Joe O’Toole
Senior Project Architect
Joe grew up in the Charlotte metropolitan area and went on to earn his degree from the Savannah College of Art and Design. During his studies, he had the opportunity to study abroad in France, an experience that broadened his perspective on architecture and design. Joe joined B&G in October 2024 and is a licensed architect in both Washington and New York.
Outside of the office, Joe serves as a land steward at a local nature preserve, reflecting his appreciation for the natural environment. He also enjoys birding, woodworking, and taking road trips to explore new places and landscapes.
Joe’s favorite building is Fallingwater, a timeless example of architecture’s ability to harmonize with its surroundings. If given the chance to share a coffee with any architect, past or present, he would choose Henry Hobson Richardson, whose influential work helped shape American architecture.
Joe has a deep appreciation for a profession that combines creativity, problem-solving, and the opportunity to shape the places where people live, work, and connect.
