Andrea Smith

Project Architect

Andee grew up in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and earned both her Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Master of Architecture degrees from the University of Idaho. During her studies, she participated in the university’s New York Program, spending a month immersed in the city’s architecture, neighborhoods, and urban culture before designing a modular apartment living concept in studio. She joined B&G in June 2025 and is a licensed architect in Washington, Idaho, and Utah.

What Andee enjoys most about architecture is the relationship between people and the built environment. She is especially drawn to residential design, where thoughtful planning can quietly support the unique ways individuals and families live. To her, the best architecture often goes unnoticed—it simply feels comfortable, intuitive, and enriching. Being able to create spaces that have that impact is what makes the profession so rewarding.

Outside of work, Andee enjoys crocheting, rock collecting, and playing video games. Her favorite building is the Farnsworth House, admired for its elegant simplicity and enduring influence on modern architecture.

If she could share a coffee with any architect, past or present, Andee would choose her grandfather, Newell Goldsberry. An architect himself, he took her out for coffee every weekend when she was a child and was the single greatest influence on her decision to pursue architecture as a career.

Andee was recognized as one of 425 Business Magazine’s “30 Under 30” in September 2016. She is also an accomplished old-time fiddler and was once a fiddling champion in her late teens—though she jokingly notes that it’s been a while since she last picked up a violin.
